TOWN OF METOMEN
REQUEST FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to all persons in the Town of Metomen, Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin, that a Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at the Metomen Town Hall, N6971, Hwy 44-49. The Town Zoning Board of Appeals will meet to review and make recommendation on the following Conditional Use Permit application:
Request by Kartechner Brothers LLC, N11829 County Road I Waupun – for a conditional use permit for production of asphalt on the property with the legal description:
- S12 T15N R14E W 1⁄2 NW 1⁄4 NE 1⁄4 EXC CSM #708-5-128
- S12 T15N R14E NE 1⁄4 NW 1⁄4 EXC A PARC IN NE COR (V1324-986) 38.80A
- S12 T15N R14E SE 1⁄4 NW 1⁄4 (V1324-986) 40 A
All located at W12250 and W12336 Reeds Corners Rd., Ripon, WI 54971
Proposal is for a new, temporary asphalt plant on the site of an active quarry. Plant noise levels or pollution/odors will not be above what is already being generated in this quarry. Truck traffic will be kept within regular quarry hours and will not negatively affect neighbor’s ability to access their property.
An asphalt plant at this site is in the interest of the public because it would allow for more competitive asphalt bids on the county, township, and municipal levels.
FURTHER NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that immediately following the above meeting, the Town Board will conduct a public hearing to consider comments for and against the above applications and to consider the recommendations of the Zoning Committee. At the conclusion of the public hearing the Town Board may take action on this variance applications. All interested parties are encouraged to attend.
